Sell Your Camper or Trailer Fast

Is it time to move up to a larger recreational vehicle?  Whether you’re looking for new rvs for sale or or want to step down to one of the great small campers for sale on the market, if you need to sell your camper or trailer fast, here are 3 tips you’ll want to learn!

  1. How Much Is My Camper or Trailer Worth?

When you’re looking for camper values you can check three top sites: eBay Motors, Kelley Blue Book, and Nada Guides.  On the eBay site you’ll need to log into your account (or sign up for an account if you don’t already have one.)  Then click on the eBay Motors site, and select “other vehicles.” You can now search for campers and trailers that are for sale now, to get an idea of what’s on the market, and you can search the completed sales, to see what other trailers and campers have sold for.  Nada has online values for newer campers and trailers online, and Kelley Blue Book has booklets available for purchase.

  2. How Can I Get Top Dollar for My Camper or Trailer?

Just like the three most important things in real estate (location, location, location!), you’ll want to get your camper to the best place to sell it.  Don’t fret – the best place is the virtual online world!  So get your paper listing ready so you can input information on online camper sales sites, and also your pictures.  If you aren’t familiar with listing your camper for sale on the internet you can look into hiring someone to do this for you.  eBay assistants generally charge a percentage of the sales price for their services.  Another important aspect of selling for the top dollar is the condition that your camper or trailer is in.  If anything needs cleaned up or repaired on your camper or trailer, take care of these issues prior to listing your unit.

  3. Where’s the Best Place To Sell My Camper or Trailer?

I’m going to recommend that you try to sell your camper or trailer on Craigslist first – it’s free and easy to use.  Here are some tips:  create a free email account to use with your Craigslist account prior to listing your used camper for sale.  To do this you can go onto gmail – it’s quick and easy.  Next go to the Craigslist site and create an account if your don’t already have one, or log in, if you do.  Select the geographical area that is closest to you.  Type in the information and upload some pictures.  Be sure to follow the Craigslist guidelines so your account stays in good order and you don’t get blacklisted from Craigslist.  Resist the temptation to place your ad in multiple locations, this is not allowed.  It is also not allowed to link to another listing.  (No clickable links from Craigslist.)  You can list a telephone number if you like.  You might want to consider getting a cheap “throwaway” cell phone to use for  a month or two while you are selling your camper, so that your actual telephone number is not published on the internet.  (An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!)

Wishing you the best of luck accomplishing your goal of selling your camper or trailer at top dollar as quickly as possible!
